Ayr Rugby Club Events

Posted by

Ayr Rugby Club strives to be an inclusive community orientated organisation. The Club has one of the largest youth sections in the country, and co-funds the Ayr Community Rugby Trust (ACRT) which obtained charitable status on 1st March 2008. Through financial support from the SRU, South Ayrshire Council, The Stanley Morrison Trust and Co-operative Funeral Care, the ACRT administers and manages  Development Officer, Stuart Fenwick. The ACRT also funds 50% of a SVQ student and additional part time coaches.

In the past year rugby sessions have been delivered to a total of 14,950 individuals (10,648 boys and 4,302 girls). There were 360 Primary school Sessions and 266 Secondary School Sessions. The Development Officer also delivered 3 Foundation courses to 48 coaches across Ayrshire, held a level 1 referee course and delivered a a street rugby programme in partnership with South Ayrshire Council.

All of this costs money and the Ayr Rugby Club committee and team of volunteers work tirelessly raising money to contribute to the running costs. Over the years the Rugby Club Events have grown both in size and status. The Fireworks Night is now the largest in South Ayrshire and The Land O'Burns Weekender is recognised nationally as the biggest and Best Beach Rugby Tournament. All our events are family focussed and welcome both members and non-members. So come along and join in!
